Maternity Photography in Dublin

From the Georgian doorways of Merrion Square to the wild Wicklow coastline an hour south, Dublin gives us two completely different films in one wedding day.

We schedule maternity sessions between 30 and 36 weeks, when the pregnancy is fully visible but before the final stage of discomfort. Most sessions take place at home or at a location with meaning — not against a studio backdrop, and not at 38 weeks when moving around is the last thing anyone wants to do.

The approach is relaxed and moves in two phases. We guide you through a handful of structured portraits first — positions and light that we know produce strong results — then shift to looser, more documentary work. The best maternity images rarely come from the most formally posed moments. They come from a quiet pause on a sofa, a partner's hand at a specific angle, a detail that only exists for this short window of time.

Clothing and styling guidance is sent before every session. We suggest loose, draped fabrics in neutral tones that photograph well in natural light and are easy to adjust during the session. If you already have something specific in mind, bring it and we will work around it.

Maternity sessions can include your partner, your other children, or be just you. All three approaches produce strong results depending on what feels right for where you are right now. We discuss this in advance so the session structure reflects your situation rather than a default format.
