Cliveden House sits above the Thames in Buckinghamshire: formal Italianate gardens, a genuinely grand façade, and river light that changes the whole feel of the afternoon.

The terraced gardens at Cliveden give us layered, formal shots that are hard to recreate anywhere else. We usually plan the couple's portraits around the parterre before the light flattens out.

Inside, the scale of the rooms calls for wider framing through the reception, which we build into the shot list from the start.
